The Switch To Mac

I know this post is long past due, but I just wanted to get the information out there.
This past December I made the switch from a Windows XP Home computer to the 15″ MacBook Pro (through the generosity of my parents, might I add), and I must say I’ve never been more pleased.
I’ve been an Apple Macintosh fan for quite some time. My first true experience on a Mac OS X operating system was at school when a teacher of mine had a shiny, new iMac ordered for his office. You could say it was love at first sight. I think I was fascinated with the graphics display, the ease of use, and most importantly, the speed at which the computer performed.
So when I was made aware that I would be receiving a MacBook Pro soon, naturally I was excited. But even though I was such a fan of Apple’s computers, I was a little bit on edge at the same time, just like everyone else. I started worrying about things like programs that wouldn’t port over to Mac, new hardware and software I would have to familiarize myself with, and such. And I think this is the reason most people don’t want to make the switch. However, given a few days to mess around with the machine, all of those worries cleared up and the computer has done me good since then.
I know there were some problems with the Adobe Creative Suite 2 on the intel-based Macs, but Creative Suite 3 runs wonderfully smooth. No problems here.
Anyway, here are the specs for my computer for anyone interested.
My Laptop
Model: Apple 15″ MacBook Pro
Processor: 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Resolution: 1440 x 900 Widescreen
Memory: 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2
Hard Drive: 120GB Serial ATA
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM
Although Apple’s computers tend to be on the expensive side, I would assure you that they are worth the money, especially for creative professionals in art, design, or music. But that’s my opinion. What do you think?

I think you’re right! I’m using Windows but am looking into Linux… a Mac just won’t cut it for me… I need a powerhouse of an OS. But I do like Macs…

Once you switch there is no going back… and definitely no going to Vista.
@Matt: OS X has BSD (another flavor of *nix) under the hood … so if you can do it Linux or *nix you can do it on OS X. Plus it has a nicer interface then any of the LInux flavors out there.

I agree. I think I’m hooked for life…
